Akari Extends the Volleyball Match

Akari entered the third set needing a response to avoid a straight-set defeat. The Chargers played with more urgency, improved their floor defense, and became more patient during longer rallies.

Their adjustments produced a 25-21 third-set victory. PLDT continued to create attacking opportunities, but Akari controlled the important points and reduced the match deficit to 2-1.

The third set tested PLDT’s ability to recover after losing momentum. Instead of allowing Akari to take full control, the High Speed Hitters reorganized their reception and returned to a more balanced offense in the fourth frame.

Dy added nine points, including eight attacks. Reyes, Malaluan, Baron, and Prado contributed six points each. Fajardo recorded 16 excellent sets and scored three points.

Kath Arado played an important role in PLDT’s backcourt. She finished with 19 excellent digs from 32 attempts, helping the team remain organized during Akari’s strongest periods.

For the Chargers, Nisperos led the team with 12 points from nine attacks, one block, and two service aces. Tagaod scored eight points, while Grethcel Soltones and Ivy Lacsina added seven each. Judith Abil recorded 10 excellent digs for Akari.
